/1/">Analysis on singular and non-compact spaces and Lie manifolds</a>\nby
Victor Nistor (Université de Lorraine\, France) as part of Analysis and
Differential Geometry International Seminar @ Aveiro\n\n\nAbstract\nI will
begin by reviewing some classical results on the analysis on compact mani
folds and on manifolds with conical points (due to Kondratiev and others).
It turns out that many of these classical results generalize to a larger
class of singular or non-compact spaces defined using Lie algebroids and L
ie manifolds. Since we will treat singular spaces by blowing them up to a
 non-compact manifold\, I will refer in the following only to non-compact m
anifolds.\n\nIn order to obtain the mentioned generalizations\, I will str
ess the role of Lie algebroids and hence of suitable classes of vector fie
lds in modelling the geometry at infinity\, which is at the heart of the d
efinition of a Lie manifold. As an example\, I will explain how to obtain
Fredholm conditions for the natural operators on suitable Lie manifolds. T
he results of this talk are based\, in part\, on joint work with Ammann\,
 Carvalho\, and Yu.\n

ew of our recent works related to a nonharmonic theory of pseudo-different
ial operators. The results apply\, in particular\, to differential operato
rs on manifold with and without boundaries.\n

DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://stable.researchseminars.org/talk/ADGIS
 /3/">On the Brunn-Minkovski inequality and sub-Riemannian curvature</a>\nb
y Davide Barilari (Università degli Studi di Padova) as part of Analysis
and Differential Geometry International Seminar @ Aveiro\n\n\nAbstract\nTh
e classical Brunn-Minkovski inequality in the Euclidean space generalizes
to Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below. Indeed th
is inequality can be used to define the notion of "Ricci curvature bounded
from below" for more general metric spaces. A class of spaces which do no
t satisfy this more general definition is the one of sub-Riemannian manifo
lds: these can be seen as a limit of Riemannian manifolds having Ricci cur
vature that is unbounded\, whose prototype is the Heisenberg group. \n\nIn
the first part of the talk I will discuss about the validity of a Brunn-M
inkovsky type inequality in the SR setting. The second part concerns a not
ion of sub-Riemannian Bakry-Émery curvature and the corresponding compari
son theorems for distortion coefficients. The model spaces for comparison
are variational problems coming from optimal control theory.\n
