 namical framework giving rise to many classical sequences in number theory
  and algebraic combinatorics. We show that every such sequence is either p
 reperiodic or satisfies a certain height gap condition. As applications\, 
 we obtain results concerning D-finite power series and a weak version of D
 ynamical Mordell-Lang. This is based on joint work with Jason Bell\, Drago
 s Ghioca\, and Fei Hu.\n
