IFR/4/">Analytic functionals\, conformal dispersion relation and Polyakov
bootstrap</a>\nby Dalimil Mazac (SCGP) as part of TIFR Quantum Space-Time
Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nI will describe a novel analytic approach to the co
nformal bootstrap in CFTs in general dimension. The approach is based on t
he construction of a certain basis of linear functionals acting on the con
formal crossing equation. The technique is particularly useful in holograp
hic CFTs\, where it directly constrains the low-energy physics. I will exp
lain how our approach is related to the conformal dispersion relation and
Polyakov bootstrap. The talk will be based on https://arxiv.org/pdf/1910.1

erview of some recent work on c=1 string theory. Depending on the interest
and time available\, I will elaborate on either non-perturbative effects
in the closed string sector due to D-instantons\, or a perturbative treatm
ent of the long string sector\, from the worldsheet and from the dual matr
 ix model perspective.\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/8229

IFR/7/">Taming Defects in N=4 Super-Yang-Mills</a>\nby Yifan Wang (Harvard

four-dimensional N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory hosts a rich family of defec
ts that have broad implications for the structure of the theory as a fully
-extended CFT. I will present recently developed non-perturbative approach
es to defect observables in the SYM\, including supersymmetric localizatio
n of defect networks\, and bootstrap of integrable boundary states. I will
also discuss applications of these methods to specific defect observable
s and comparisons with standard computations in IIB string theory on AdS_
 5 x S^5.\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/82290208706?pwd=e
