DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://stable.researchseminars.org/talk/Quant
InfoSem/1/">Quantum synchronization in nanoscale heat engines</a>\nby Sai
Vinjanampathy (IIT Bombay) as part of Albanova Quantum Information Seminar
\n\n\nAbstract\nSynchronisation involves the adjustment of rhythms of inte
racting classical or quantum systems. In this talk\, I will discuss nanos
cale heat engines are a natural platform to study quantum synchronization
and show that they always possess a stable limit cycle. Furthermore\, I wi
ll discuss an intimate relationship between the power of a coherently driv
en heat engine and its phase-locking properties by proving that synchroniz
ation places an upper bound on the achievable steady-state power of the en
gine. Such an engine exhibits finite steady-state power if and only if its
synchronization measure is nonzero. Finally\, I will show that the effici
ency of the engine sets a point in terms of the bath temperatures where sy
nchronization vanishes. Relationship to a resource theoretic measure of co
 herence will also be discussed.\n
