DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://stable.researchseminars.org/talk/SCGP_
 Physics/1/">On the Quantization of Seiberg-Witten Geometry</a>\nby Nathan
Haouzi (Simons Center for Geometry and Physics) as part of SCGP Zoom Physi
cs Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nWe propose a double quantization of four-dimensi
onal N=2 Seiberg-Witten geometry\, for all classical gauge groups and a wi
de variety of matter content. This can be understood as a set of certain n
 on-perturbative Schwinger-Dyson identities\, following the program initiat
ed in [arXiv:1512.05388]. The construction relies on the computation of th
e instanton partition function of the gauge theory on the so-called Omega-
background on R^4\, in the presence of half-BPS codimension 4 defects. The
two quantization parameters are identified as the two parameters of this
background. The Seiberg-Witten curve of the theory is recovered in the fla
t space limit. If time permits\, we will explain how to derive some of our
results from type IIA string theory.\n

Physics/2/">The supersymmetric Cardy formula from effective actions</a>\nb
y Martin Fluder (Princeton University) as part of SCGP Zoom Physics Semina
r\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will discuss supersymmetric Cardy formul
ae in d=4 and d=6. These formulae govern the universal behavior in the hig
h-temperature regime of supersymmetric partition functions — or\, in the
case of the superconformal index\, they govern the high-energy asymptotic
s of SUSY operators at large energy. I will outline the proof of the 6d an
d 4d Cardy formulae for theories with moduli spaces of vacua\, which relie
s on an effective supersymmetric Chern-Simons action in 5d and 3d\, respec
tively. I will argue that this effective action is universal and intimatel
y related to perturbative as well as global gravitational anomalies. Final
ly\, I will discuss some immediate consequences of our results and briefly
compare and distinguish our results to other (more recent) proposals for
 Cardy formulae.\n
