ngalore Stat-Math Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nWe will present a complete proof
of the dimensional Brunn-Minkowski inequality for origin symmetric convex
sets in Gauss space. This settles a problem raised by Gardner and Zvavitch
(2010). The talk is based on joint work with G. Moschidis.\n

n\n\nAbstract\nFrom a graph we define a monoid which seems to capture many
properties of the graph\, hence the name talented. We show a connection b
etween the geometry of the graph and the structure of the talented monoid
associated to it.\nThis monoid is also closely related to the structure of
  Leavitt path algebras.\n

h (IISER Mohali) as part of ISI Bangalore Stat-Math Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\
nStudy of certain isotopy classes of a finite collection of immersed circl
es without triple or higher intersections on closed oriented surfaces can
be thought of as a planar analogue of virtual knot theory where the genus
zero case corresponds to classical knot theory. It is intriguing to know w
hich class of groups serves the purpose that Artin braid groups serve in c
lassical knot theory. Mikhail Khovanov proved that twin groups\, a class o
f right angled Coxeter groups with only far commutativity relations\, do t
he job for genus zero case. A recent work shows that an appropriate class
of groups called virtual twin groups fits into the theory for higher genus
cases. The talk would give an overview of some recent developments along
 these lines.\n

 \n\n\nAbstract\nTitle : A model structure for singular foliations.\n\nAbst
ract :\n\nThere has been recently a resurgence of interest for singular fo
liations. This is partly due to the recent results of Lavau/Laurent-Gengou
x/Strobl (L-L-G-S) which enable to use homotopy Lie algebroids to study su
ch foliations.\n\nIn this talk I will present a joint work with Rigel Juar
ez which enables to recover results similar to those of L-L-G-S as coroll
aries of the existence of semi-model category structure on the category of
  homotopy Lie-Rinehart algebras.\n

y principles concerned with zero\ndistribution of random polynomials. In o
ne direction\, universality phenomenon\nindicates that under natural assum
ptions\, asymptotic distribution of (appropriately\nnormalized) zeros of r
andom polynomials is independent of the choice of probability\nlaw defined
on random polynomials. Another form of universality is asymptotic\nnormal
ity of smooth linear statistics of zero currents. Finally\, if time permit
s\, I\nwill also describe some recent results on universality of scaling l
imits of correlations\nbetween simultaneous zeros of random polynomials.\n

ibseminar/17/">On the minimization of general types of Riesz-like energies
.</a>\nby Aldo Pratelli (University of Pisa) as part of ISI Bangalore Stat
-Math Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nThere is recently a deep interest on several
questions about \nminimization of various types of energies which show the
  \nattraction-repulsion effect\, that is\, particles are attracting with e
ach \nother if far away\, but repulsing each other if too close. One of th
e \nfirst physical models of this kind is the celebrated liquid drop model
\nby Gamow (1930)\, but a huge number of generalisations have been now \n
considered. There are many natural problems to be studied\, and despite a
\nhuge effort by several authors in the decades\, some of the most \nimpor
tant are still open. In this seminar\, we will give an overall view \nof s
ome of the main known properties and open problems\, starting with \nresul
ts which are nowadays classical\, and ending with some very recent \nones.
