DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://stable.researchseminars.org/talk/HET/6
/">Entanglement in scattering and the S-matrix bootstrap</a>\nby Aninda Si
nha (Indian Insititute of Science) as part of Purdue HET\n\n\nAbstract\nI
will talk about how relative entropy\, a concept in quantum information th
eory to distinguish two density matrices\, behaves in 2-2 scattering in qu
antum field theory\, string theory\, chiral perturbation theory and the nu
merical S-matrix bootstrap. In the context of massive quantum field theori
es\, I will derive high energy bounds on relative entropy as well as study
the Regge behavior. Then I will turn to the S-matrix bootstrap. I will gi
ve a broad overview of what this program is about and how to constrain pio
n scattering with it. Here\, some insight from relative entropy will prove
to be handy to constrain the space of S-matrices. I will discuss some ide
as based on minimization of total scattering cross-section to constrain pi
on S-matrices further\; curious coincidences such as boundary of allowed S
-matrices being close to the Lovelace-Shapiro model of early string theory
\, emerging linear Regge trajectories\, as well as reduction in Entangleme
nt power near the standard model point will be discussed.\n
